Proud to supply new fever scanning cameras to the NHS

Treliske Hospital where thermal fever scanning cameras supplied

It’s more important than ever just now to keep frontline NHS staff as safe as possible.

We are very proud to be the first company to supply the new HIKVision thermal fever scanning cameras to the NHS with seven units being deployed to Treliske hospital in Truro.

These cameras represent a fantastic breakthrough in CCTV technology and can add an additional layer of safety to any site by reading the temperature of everyone entering a building.

The thermal fever scanning cameras work by measuring radiation emitted from people and converting it, with a high degree of accuracy into a visual indication of body temperature. This means the new cameras can help to detect elevated body temperature, which indicates presence of a fever — one of the key symptoms of Covid-19.

The cameras can work from about one metre away, meaning that no unnecessary physical contact is necessary to screen people entering the hospital. Anyone who appears to have a higher than normal body temperature, can then be checked by specially trained and equipped medical staff.

“We are delighted to have taken our place as part of the NHS supply chain delivering such cutting edge technology,” says Nigel Stephens, Divisional Director of Waldon Security (part of TClarke Plc). “We hope that with our small part in what is an enormous effort by the NHS across the board lives are saved.”
